Coordinator/Director Notes:
Responding to Child Abuse: An Iowa Conference
A first time Iowa event with four nationally recognized experts on child abuse: Friday and Saturday, November 9 & 10, 2001, in Iowa City. This conference precedes our Fall Conference which begins Sunday afternoon, November 11. We bring together Iowa physicians and prosecutors for joint training in an area of great concern to both professions. Returning to Iowa for the conference is Dr. Randell Alexander, now Director of the Morehouse School of Medicine Center for Child Abuse in Atlanta, Georgia. An Agenda is attached at page 14. Registration details will be forthcoming very soon. "Responding together we CAN make a difference for Iowa Children."
2001 Fall Conference Iowa City, Iowa
The Tentative Agenda for the Fall Conference at the downtown Sheraton Hotel in Iowa City is attached at page 15. We feature four outstanding speakers from Massachusetts, Florida, Louisiana, and California; and, of course, a great lineup of Iowa prosecutors willing to share their knowledge and expertise with you. The presentation by Dr. Gary Wells of Iowa State University, a nationally recognized expert on eyewitness identification issues, and Clinton County Attorney, Mike Wolf, is something you will not want to miss. Another conference highlight will be our Sunday evening reception at the Old Capitol on the Pentacrest in Iowa City. Don't miss it!
Registration information will be coming in the mail soon!
