Court Restructuring


The legislative debate continues as budget problems continue to mount.  Some parts of the 2001 Court Restructuring Plan have been abandoned: consolidation of clerk's offices.  However, an assessment of that plan by Dr. Mark Edelman, Professor of Economics and Public Policy at Iowa State University, can be viewed on the Iowa State Bar Association website:  www.iowabar.org.

JUVENILE MENTORING PROGRAM (JUMP) (Due March 25, 2002)

The Juvenile Mentoring Program (JUMP) supports one-to-one mentoring projects for youth
at risk of failing in school, dropping out of school, or becoming involved in delinquent behavior, including gang activity and substance abuse.

FY 2002 DRUG-FREE COMMUNITIES SUPPORT PROGRAM (due April 24, 2002)

The Drug-Free Communities Support Program is designed to strengthen community anti-drug
coalitions and reduce substance abuse among youth.
